Q:
What is your jewelry made from?
A: Most of our jewelry is made using .925 sterling
silver. In some designs, we also will use enamel,
stones, or a touch of brass. In its natural state,
pure silver is very soft, so it is often alloyed
with copper for strength. All of our sterling
silver items are marked with the number ".925".
The number .925 means that the alloy is at least
92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. This quality stamp
is your assurance of the pieces' integrity. Our
pocket pieces are silver-plated coins.
Q: How do
I care for my jewelry?
Sterling Silver: With proper
care, your jewelry will last a lifetime. Your
sterling silver jewelry should be stored in a
cool, dry place to avoid oxidation. A good idea
is to keep your jewelry in a zip lock bag or an
anti-tarnish bag when not in use. Do not store
your silver directly on wood, which often contains
acids that can affect silver's finish. Avoid exposing
your silver to household chemicals when cleaning
with bleach or ammonia, or when swimming in chlorinated
water, as these chemicals can damage silver. Never
use anything other than a clean 100% cotton or
a special sterling silver cleaning cloth. Paper,
polyester, and coarse fabrics often contain wood
fibers or synthetics that can cause tiny scratches
in the surface of your sterling silver jewelry.
You can purchase polishing cloths to keep the
shine topnotch. These are sold on our website
or through your consultant.
Pewter: We have a few pewter
pieces that will not oxidize like sterling silver.
Pewter can also stain from acids and certain chemicals.
Pewter can be washed in warm soapy water using
mild detergent and can be polished occasionally
using pewter polish if pewter becomes dull. Most
of our pewter pieces will be created in a satin
finish: a flat look that is top coated with lacquer.
Silver-Plated: Caring for silver-plated
jewelry is similar to sterling silver jewelry.
To remove tarnish from silver-plated jewelry use
the same recommend cleaning techniques for cleaning
sterling silver. The only major difference is
reducing the amount of polish used as over exposure
can inadvertently remove the silver-plate. Unlike
sterling silver, silver-plated jewelry will eventually
wear in due time. Proper cleaning, maintenance,
and storage are critical for extending its life.
Some silver-plated jewelry will last longer than
others depending on the thickness of its layer.
We recommend you use polishing cloths. They are
not abrasive, and it will remove tarnish without
a lot of effort.
Q:
Where else can we find your products?
A: We sell through our consultants. We believe
in "passing it on" from one woman to another.
These connections are powerful. Many consultants
enjoy selling at craft shows or at religious/educational
conferences in their local areas, so check our
calendar to find shows near you.
Q: Why is
the shipping cost the same for a small order as
it is for a big order?
A: One thing we have no control over is UPS fuel
charges. UPS weight fees start at one pound, so
whether you order one pendant or 25 pendants...the
UPS shipping charge will be the same.
Two tips to save money in shipping:
1) order at a Compelling Creations® party so the
order is delivered to your hostess or consultant;
2) group your order with friends and ship it to
one address. When you split the shipping charge
with a couple of friends, buying from the internet
is easier and cheaper than driving to the mall!
