Q: What is your jewelry made from?
A: Most of our jewelry is made using either .925 sterling silver or rhodium plating. In some designs, we also will use enamel, stones, or a touch of brass. In its natural state, pure silver is very soft, so it is often alloyed with copper for strength. All of our sterling silver items are marked with the number ".925". The number .925 means that the alloy is at least 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. This quality stamp is your assurance of the pieces' integrity. Our pocket pieces are silver-plated coins.
Q: How do I care for my jewelry?
Sterling Silver: With proper care, your jewelry will last a lifetime. Your sterling silver jewelry should be stored in a cool, dry place to avoid oxidation. A good idea is to keep your jewelry in a zip lock bag or an anti-tarnish bag when not in use. Do not store your silver directly on wood, which often contains acids that can affect silver's finish. Avoid exposing your silver to household chemicals when cleaning with bleach or ammonia, or when swimming in chlorinated water, as these chemicals can damage silver. Never use anything other than clean 100% cotton or a special sterling silver cleaning cloth. Paper, polyester, and coarse fabrics often contain wood fibers or synthetics that can cause tiny scratches in the surface of your sterling silver jewelry. You can purchase polishing cloths to keep the shine topnotch. These are sold on our website or through your consultant.
Rhodium Plated: The designs in the Share It line are cast in solid brass, and generously plated in rhodium, a precious metal known for its durability. Rhodium is a member of the platinum family of precious. It is hypoallergenic, and resistant to incidental scratching and tarnishing so all you need to do is simply wipe with a cloth to keep clean.
Pewter: Occasionally we may offer a pewter piece that will not oxidize like sterling silver. Pewter can also stain from acids and certain chemicals. Pewter can be washed in warm soapy water using mild detergent and can be polished occasionally using pewter polish if pewter becomes dull. Most of our pewter pieces will be created in a satin finish: a flat look that is top coated with lacquer.
Q: Where else can we find your products?
A: We sell through our consultants. We believe in "passing it on" from one woman to another. These connections are powerful.
